A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

SUCH A NIGHT

As Elvis (and Johnny Ray before him) said:  "It was a night; oh, what a night it was..."
And as Richard Rodgers, prolific songwriter and composer of the tune "The Sweetest Sound", said when asked what was HIS sweetest sound:  "Standing Room Only".

And that's what we had.  The DecaDance night - finally come to fruition, with a sold-out, packed house at Hugh's Room in Toronto.
Amazing fun and music and love and audience.  Sooooo great.
And now I'm pretty much DAID.

Well, more like a zombie is it.

I will post lots more later, and have some pics. maybe even some video.

And remeet old friends.  At Saturday's rehearsal, our friend and bassist from Funky Knees days, Gord Russell, came by to close the 35 year-old gap between himself and drummer Paul Greco.  Such an emotional reunion!!

MARCHING ON

Had a meeting with the graphic designer, Richard.  We're now working on the CD artwork. Yes, we are making one of those old-fashioned discs.  Just for old times' sake.  And for something to take home from the gig.

in the meantime, this photo is from a recent walk by the lake.  i couldn't believe that lovely emerald colour. it's on the other blog, but one can't get enough of nature can one?  to soothe one's nerves after being on the computer too long.

WANNA DANCE

Man!, and Woman!  Sho' is a lot of work getting ready for this little celebration of mine.  Most of it is the searching for friends and acquaintances from years past, and the compilation of a huge list, so's I can invite everyone.  And the bio's, and the photos, and the planning of the CD cover and layout, and the actual recording and mixing, and the rehearsing.
Why, I hardly have a moment to actually sing, let alone dance.
I think I'll sneak a little time off to do just those two things this afternoon.
Woman does not live on bread alone (not that this project earns me any bread).
Still, it's a labour of love.
I'll be posting little snippets of songs soon, but meanwhile, here are some pictures of some recording times in studio, and some rehearsals.
